Schellenberg Wittmer’s Competition Group comprises leading experts who specialise in competition law matters. We advise and represent clients in all aspects of competition law concerning commercial practices and agreements, and merger control filings. Our lawyers have broad experience and excellent training in Swiss and EU competition law, and we are one of the few Swiss firms to offer the full range of competition law skills and resources.

- Merger control: we represent clients in complex merger control proceedings in Switzerland and coordinate international notifications
- Investigations: we represent clients in competition law investigations by the Swiss Competition Commission and appeal proceedings before the federal courts, with special expertise in cartel, dominance and distribution cases (construction, luxury goods, electronics, print media, broadcasting, telecommunication, electricity, gas, payment cards, retail, etc.)
- General competition advice: we advise both national and multinational corporate clients on exclusive and selective distribution agreements and licensing agreements
- Leniency and settlement: we handle national and international leniency and settlement procedures
- Dawn raids: we prepare clients for and assist them in dawn raids by the Swiss Competition Commission
- Internal investigations: we handle complex internal investigations processes in the context of competition law investigations or mock reviews, using our own document review platform and specialist internal review teams
- Compliance: we provide compliance programmes, training, e-learning and audits for Swiss and international clients
- Civil damages claims and arbitration: we cooperate with our first tier arbitration and litigation teams on court and arbitration proceedings related to competition law
- Related areas: we handle regulatory assignments, particularly in the telecoms and energy sector, healthcare procedures, public procurement matters and investigations by the Swiss price supervisor (Preisüberwacher, Surveillant des Prix)
- Counsel on merger control aspects in the merger of TWINT AG (PostFinance) and Paymit (SIX), creating the leading Swiss mobile payment solution TWINT 2.0, together with the six biggest Swiss banks, including UBS, Zürcher Kantonalbank, Credit Suisse, PostFinance, Raiffeisen and Banque Cantonale Vaudoise
- Regulatory, competition law and public procurement advice to Bouygues Construction in its CHF 850 million acquisition of Alpiq Engineering Services
- Competition counsel to Panalpina Welttransport Holding AG in the Public Exchange Offer of DSV A/S for Panalpina Welttransport (Holding) AG, two of the world’s leading freight forwarders, valued at CHF 4.6 billion with merger control notifications in more than 12 jurisdictions
- Counsel to Uber for regulatory and competition law matters in Switzerland
- Counsel to a local utilities company in the context of network access requests in non-liberalised markets
- Representation of Husqvarna in investigations by the Swiss Competition Commission
