Cross-border advice to Singaporean and other Southeast Asian clients doing business in Switzerland, and representation in international arbitration proceedings seated in Singapore and other Southeast Asian jurisdictions, offers also our office in Singapore.
Schellenberg Wittmer has been advising and representing Southeast Asian clients on a cross-border basis for more than twenty years, before establishing its first overseas office in Singapore in 2013. Schellenberg Wittmer Pte Ltd is registered as a foreign law practice with the Singapore Attorney General. Since its establishment, our Singapore subsidiary has worked as gateway for Southeast Asian clients to Switzerland and for Swiss and European clients to Southeast Asia.
For investments into Switzerland, we advise our Southeast Asian clients on M&A and finance
transactions and all legal, tax and regulatory aspects of doing business in Switzerland, focusing on areas such as financial services, real estate, information technology, construction and major projects, life sciences, infrastructure and luxury brands.
Conversely, we also assist Swiss and European clients with their investments and projects in Southeast Asia. In these cases, our role is to coordinate legal matters between parties in Europe and Southeast Asia, and to act as an intermediary with in-depth knowledge of both regions.
Last but not least, we offer first-tier representation in international arbitrations seated around the globe. Schellenberg Wittmer has one of the world’s leading international arbitration practices, ranked first-tier in Chambers, Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal, and regularly featured in GAR30 as one of the thirty leading arbitration practices worldwide. With our team in Singapore, we assist all clients in arbitrations proceedings (including in sports) seated in Singapore, Hong Kong and other arbitral seats in the region, as well as clients from Southeast, South and East Asia in arbitral proceedings around the globe.
