Jean-Frédéric Maraia is a Partner in Schellenberg Wittmer's Geneva office, where he heads the Taxation Group. He advises private clients and companies on all tax matters, at both domestic and international levels. His areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions as well as real estate transactions, the taxation of collective investment schemes, stock option and participation plans, lump-sum taxation, estate planning (including trusts), taxation in the art sector, and tax litigation.

  • Acted as legal counsel for the tax and regulatory aspects to the majority shareholders of Procimmo Group SA, a company listed on BX Swiss, in connection with the sale of their majority stake to Groupe Vaudoise Assurances.
  • Advised as lead counsel on the management buy-out of leading commodity trading firm Gunvor
  • Individual Taxation: (change of residence, lump-sum taxation, estate planning)
  • Corporate Taxation: (mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, real estate taxation, including in structures involving collective investment schemes)
