Nicolas Candaux is a Partner in our Taxation Group in Geneva. He regularly assists families and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) in connection with their relocation to Switzerland, on estate planning, asset protection and wealth structuring (trusts & private foundations). He also advises on M&A transactions and tax driven group reorganizations and handles frequently tax disputes and mutual assistance proceedings.

Experience

  • Advised Stanhope Capital Group on its combination with US-based wealth advisor Corient
  • Relocation of HNWI and families to Switzerland (lump sum taxation, estate planning, asset structuring through trusts and foundations)
  • Advising Swiss target companies in connection with their acquisition by publicly listed acquirers, including the negotiation of tax rulings and the implementation of pre- and post-closing restructuring measures
  • Tax advice to Swiss and foreign real estate companies on the acquisition and sale of Swiss real estate
  • Advising and representing individuals and companies in administrative assistance proceedings and domestic tax litigation
